What is a good gift to give to a girl that isn't my girlfriend?

I really like this girl that I've been getting to know since school started. We talk all the time and I've actually already used up all my texts talking to her even though they got renewed like a week ago. unfortunately for me she just broke up with her...

old boyfriend and is really depressed about it, and because I tried to help her out she's kinda mad at me now. To be honest she means the world to me and I really want to prove that to her, (btw she knows that I'm in love, unfortunately I had to open my big mouth about it to her). We are only about a month and a half into 9th grade so its the first year of high school and she's becoming my best friend but I hope it goes further. a little extra she's like crazy for that Hello Kitty stuff, there's a little McDonald's keychain on her backpack and we were messing around and I took it off and wouldn't give it back and she punched me lol. She is like the other half of me because she's really athletic and says whatever is on her mind and I'm kind of overweight( but not for long) and shy, but we get along great. I could use any advice you guys could give me. Thanks.

Personally, I have the same question to any girls out there, except this, I'm not in love with my girl best friend. (im a guy too). We used to be somewhat in love but we had parental issues. But her and I are best friends now and I couldnt ask for more. But I would most definetly take that one girls advice, the one that was freaked out by the gift. And dont be clingy around her, dont be all over her and give her the space she needs. Wait until you get a little more serious. A good gift for now would just be a card saying something simple, such as thank you for being there or something of that nature. Now dont go and get her a card saying how much you care for her because that will freak her out.

alright well im not a guy..and I have had this guy do the same to me...saying he liked me and stuf and he was like my best friend...I wouldnt get her a gift just yet...because the guy did that 2 me and it freaked me out...I help you out more if you add me or you can funmail me =]
