What happens if I forget to appear at my jury duty date? ... will I be prosecuted or arrested after just landing from my plane?

I don't know how it works in India. However, in the US, you're required to show up OR let them know if you're going to miss in advance.

If you're summoned, you're supposed to reply & let them know. There's a long form to fill out that covers traveling & similar situations by default.
