What handbags are popular in fashion?

Besides berken bags or jelly bags are there any handbags that are super popular nowadays? My cousin is trying to buy his wife a gift and she is heavy into fashion. Ah, women and the curse of the purse.

It's not always the brand of the bag - for my wife, it's the color. The bag, handbag, or purse needs to match & coordinate with her outfit. Otherwise, she won't use it. 3 out of the 5 or more handbags she has she doesn't use, because they don't match most of her wardrobe.
