I have absolutely TERRIBLE acne.Currently,I have this huge a$$ 'growth' right next to my nose and I want it gone before school starts and that's in like TWO FREAKIN WEEKS!!! I've been using CleanClear for YEARS and doesn't do squat. What other type of...

face wash could I use other than proactiv because I know it's expensive and I'm really short on money right now.

I don't know about face wash, but I've heard that if you put toothpaste on a big blemish it dries it right up.

Good luck

well I know if your prone to acne then thoughes things can have no affect (espically after a long use)or can make it worse so try a mix of a lot of things but I wouldnt reccomend proactive because it burns really bad.

Yes and therein lies the clue...

... toothpaste is one of a kind of astringent... look up astringent on google and it will show you what you could possibly use on your face safely.

Some blemish concealers act like an astringent...it could be a case of experimentation to see what suits you personally.

You could always get a sachet of mud pack and use a little every day as an astringent.

I use Clearasil. It says that it starts to work in three days, but for me it normally works in just one day. So its VERY EFFECTIVE!!!

I had horrible acne for years and no topical thing would work because it had to do with my body and not just my skin which may be the case for you. What worked for me was a pill called Minocycline it clears acne up and also prevents it and now im virtually acne free

I am a 10 year dermatologist. I graduated from Tulane University in New orleans. The best thing to do is wash your face twice a day (morning and night.) I would suggest PROACTIVE. It works fast, and great. Stay away from cleansers that are high in toner, it may irritate your skin and cause a HUGE breakout. Keep oil absorbant sheets in your pocket book, and use them after a work out, or anything that makes you sweat. Drink LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS of water, have a well balanced diet, and you will be FINE. Adios!
