What does unrated means as in unrated movie edition ?

Teen-sex comedies always make a big deal out of the fact that their DVDs are UNRATED! since getting teenagers to believe they’ll see their favorite starlet in a hard-core deleted scene is a more enticing selling point than an unrated interview with the key grip or a behind-the-scenes documentary where the catering guy drops an f-bomb.
