Does my computer have a virus?

Whenever I get on my computer.. like at first it won't let me do anything except sign in on my YIM. Then like after a few hours or so, everything I clicked on earlier... it like pops back up. And it's super slow. A virus?
I can't restore it.. I had it updated into XP but I didn't get a restore disk, I suppose if I restore it with my old disk it'll turn back into 98. And that really sucks..
The computer has been like 9 years old. I changed the monitor because it broke.. it is time to change the main thing too?

What should I do? Restore? or just deal with it?

How much free space does your hard drive have? It might be getting very full.

Try to defrag your hard drive(s) maybe run a disk cleanup. Also if you could post your computers spec might be able to tell you if it's getting too old, I mean 9 years is a long time for computers.
