What do you think about receiving money for christmas?

Random Flower Asked by britz14 7 months ago, 10 answers.

Many people nowadays get money for their birthdays, if you can't think of what to get someone. Would the same thing apply to Christmas? Or, if not money, things like money, like giftcards?
I don't agree with getting money for Christmas, personally, but it would be interesting to see if other people share my views.

I've always liked money as a present.
vouchers are good too, but you have to stick to certain shops, which might not have what you want.
although getting a present on the day is great.
people don't know what to get you, so money is a good idea.

make the most of it while you're young, cause when you're an adult people rarely get you anything!
I get a few presents from my parents.
1 from my aunt, 1 from my fiance.
money or vouchers is rare.

Dear britz14,

I think that it really just depends on the person..I like getting money..but I like a good thought outpresent best above everything else. When some one makes something for me or gets some thing but with a good reason is when I feel the most thankful if it has mroe meaning to the person giving it to me then them just giving me something becasue they feel as though they have to or they would feel bad if they didn't.

Christmas and any other holiday I would say that it is always the thought that matters...

A card is more then good enough adn often very personal..
those are the best ones,

Dark WOLF

I like money. I know Christmas is a special day & if someone gave me something that I could use I would also appreciate that. Most times I get duplicates of gifts and then have to take them back & stand in line forever to return them. I have many friends and family who ask for my Christmas list and that way I don't get 2 of anything. Most of my friends know that I like money as my #1 gift.

Noone expects presents or money, its just what heppens on holidays!

My grandad died this year and my nan rung me up saying that she wouldnt be able to give me and my brother the same amount of money that we usually get, I said that thats no problem because we never expected that much anyway, the holidays are hard but this one is going to be even tougher!

I do like gifts and stuff but id much prefer all my family for christmas!

Peace

P.s- everybody have a good xmas. xx

I think there is so much pressure on everyone to buy the 'perfect' gift that we forget that's what it really is. A gift. It doesn't have to cost a lot. It should be something that you took the time to pick out for someone. A gift should be appreciated knowing that the giver took the time to pick something out just for you.

I think it depends on why you're giving money. If you give money simply because you don't want to take the time to search for the right gift or because you don't care enough about the person to know what they would really like, you're doing something wrong. However, if you give them money because you know they're very hard to please or that the funds might be more useful for them, then it's a good thing. I believe motivation is of the greatest importance when giving a gift.
