What do you know about wicca?

[A]nd _{life}_is-a-never-ending_xCirciusx Asked by circius about 1 year ago, 6 answers.

Okay, this is asked by a wiccan for wiccans, or anyone else out there that is just curious. What makes a witch on your opinion? Do you know the basis of the wiccan foundation? Are there any spells or such that have worked exceptionally well for...

you?

Yeah, this is circius trying to start chat and discussion-please don't come and bash everything that certain people believe in. You have your opinions, and I have mine...if you want to share them, start your own question thread! Jeesh.

If you don't know something about wicca that you would like to, or if you have any questions, feel free to ask~
Thanks! Merry met! ^^

Ok, so tell us about the whole dancing naked in the moonlight...is that for real or just in the movies?

Actually, it depends on the sect. Some Wiccan covens (aka, a group of Wiccans sharing the same beliefc), do like to go skyclad, that is to say naked(cladding yourself with the sky, get it?), when performing certain rituals. The dancing in the moonlight could most definitely be true...however, I'm not a part of a coven that practices skyclad myself, so I couldn't give you all the details.

Covens that practice their rituals skyclad are far and few in between, usually ones that have a long history of doing it...so to answer your question, yeah, some Wiccans dance in the Moonlight naked. But they usually don't in a public place...so I wouldn't worry to much about it.

Kudos for a good question! Thanks. =]

There is a difference between witch Wiccan
A witch is merely a practitioner of the occult magicks
A Wiccan is a practitioner of the Wicca religion.
Wicca is only a few centuries old, but it's roots go back thousands of years ago, long before the biblical religions, but it only practice the simple types of magicks, least from what I've seen.
I chose to be a witch, I'm more solitary in my practice I know well over 30 different types of magick choose to practice a broad verity of magick. That I don't share the same beliefs that Wiccans do, I really don't believe in a God A Goddess, least yet, that I know of, lol. But I might belief in a higher source of power, naming it God seems to man made, but you never know.

According to my father there are two different practitioners of magick. Those who practice good and those who practice bad. I am no longer a witch myself, but I was born into and raised as part of witchcraft. My father is Wiccan, my mother practiced Celtic Paganism.

As far as I know, the ability to cast spells does not make you a witch. Years of training, understanding, knowledge and full belief in yourself and the power you receive from the God and the Goddess makes you a witch.

I am Christian now and believe differently, but I know that according to him you can't just say okay I'm wiccan, you have to study and complete the circle.

There is no good or bad magick, magick is neither yet both because nature is. It all depends on how the practitioner decides to use their magick.

What makes a witch in my opinion is when you study for a year and a day and/or you can preform and know about the basic components to a spell. Wicca is not very old like 13th said, It is only 1 or 2 centuries old if I am not mistaken. It's roots date back before the Christan religion, before the roman catholic religion and almost every religion. The spells that have worked well for me is most of the parlor tricks as I am still new. I have been made less noticeable given the name Invisible. I have stopped conflicts at school. I have also made fire not burn anything.

Blessed Be
