most likely it is a cyst of some sort, I think I have had one in that area before.
it hasn't been there for quite a while now.
I would defianately get it checked out though- I am sure that it is nothing serious, but sometimes you just never know.
have you ever squeezed it? most times a cyst will come to a head- like a pimple or a zit, I have gotten some really thick white junk out of mine.
could be an infected hair folicle as well.
be safe- get it checked out.

get it checked out. it could just be a bone thats gone slightly out of place. I had that and its nothing to worry about. if you do to an ostyopath then it will be fine

Also, it's possible that it's one of your glands which swells up when you're a bit run-down or fighting off an infection. They do swell in those conditions, as they're working hard to keep you healthy. My son had one swollen gland the other night - he has a cold and was feeling particularly grotty that evening. It's not so bad now.

You have two of these glands below the hairline on either side of your neck. Is that about right for the location?

Well, it sounds like it's a swollen gland, then. Keep an eye on it (well, not literally!) and if it goes down when you feel OK and swells again when you're really tired/ill, then that's all it is. Normally, it's nothing to worry about. But get it checked out if you or your family are worried, because I'm not a doctor and I haven't seen it! Good luck.

It sounds like youve got swollen lymph nodes,or glands as suggested above.
Lymph Nodes are like storage spots for your mucus, and when you have a cold or some type of infection, they swell.
Theyre found in your neck, your waist, and in your arm pits, among other places.
Id suggest drinking lots of fluids, and waiting a few days.If it doesnt improve within 2 or days id see a doctor
