What are the side effects of yasmin birth control?

I read this just a few minutes ago:
http://www.funadvice.com/q/... and am I glad that I didn't take yasmin, as it sounds like there are some bad side effects to that birth control pill. Is this true, or is it as safe as...

the TV commercials say? (I'm asking b/c my gilfriends mostly take the normal pill, but we've all seen the ads for yasmin, so I'm curious).

Well, honestly the Yasmin was one that my wife took for near a year and it did lessen side effects caused by birth control. She had the usual mood swings, cramps, and weight gain. These side effects are going to be true though of most all birth control pills. Yasmin was a much lower dosage so it did help to lessen these problems, but they were still there. She has since quit birth control pills and one side effect that was not so apparent at first, was the lessening of libido with the pill. Now she feels a lot better even if her time is not as calculated every month.

All birth control pills carry side effects depending on the person. That is why they should never be purchased over the internet and without a doctors okay. They will monitor your reaction to the pill and will then adjust accordingly. Not using the pill and protection is very risky business and can result in STDs and pregnancy. Only a doctor can calculate the pros and cons of any medications.

well, that's the birth control i'm on (it's for endometriosis, not pregnancy prevention), and the only one i had was that i felt a bit nauseated when i didn't eat before and with it. this only lasted a few months, and now i'm fine. One of the other replies, however, was correct. It totally depends on the person, dose, and medical history of the patient.
