Fresh fruits and veggies of any kind are great snacks. I prefer red seedless grapes (sweet cool and refreshing), bananas, baby carrots, RAW sweet potato slices (NO skin), and especially apples. There are dozens of varieties of apples, and if you try an assortment you will see great differences. in my opinion red delicious should be called red-tasteless-balls-of-blah. Fugi from Feb thru early summer, then Pink Ladies (or Pink Cripps) till Nov then Honey Crisp or Ambrosia.
As far as meals, well I'm a bachelor so I go with one of the complete meals in a box or bag, then divvy it up into servings and freeze until the next meal or so. The idea is to control the portion size. If you are a cook, even better because you can avoid the extra salt and preservatives in processed food.
From what I understand, you want to get a healthy mix of foods to insure all the nutrients a person needs. Moderation is the key. (A word I often forget if I buy a pack of cookies. Seemingly, I am unable to allow a cookie to see the sun rise.)
Best wishes and Good Luck !!
Amy's Kitchen, Bob's Red Mill, Organic Valley, Horizon, Westby, Wellshire Farms, Sunspire, Cascadian Farms, Sno-Pac, Pasture's Pride, Pleasant Hill, Food For Life, Hain's Spectrum etc. These are all organic. I handle these in my food cooperative. Hope this helps. In your lettuce Earthbound is the best. A suggestion, don't buy your Organic food from Sam's or WalMart. Their organic food is not organic and is shipped from China. You have probably read what they are doing to the toys. You surely don't want those poisons in your body. Send me a fun mail if you need any more names.
