It will take about a month or 2. It also depends on what you are doing. I walked every day for 2 months and lost 7 pounds, I wasn't overweight. I only wanted exercise. I hardly have any fat on me now thanks to that. I ate healthy, too!

The first 10 pounds you lose is usually water weight and will come back if you are just starving yourself. You can drop that easy in a week by lowering your food intake and drinking less, which isnt that healthy. You should replace about 4-5 meals a week (try dinner) with nothing but a salad with NO dressing, or steamed vegetables. If you run/walk briskly just a mile or two 3 times week you can drop 20 REAL pounds in a month - 6 weeks easy. The nice thing about most vegetables is you can eat as much as you want with almost 0 calorie intake, so the fat WILL come off. You should eat a small amound of protine too, maybe some chicken on the salad, but not too much. You can eat veggies until you feel FULL and still lost weight, but you really need to exercise a little to help change your metabolism, you don't need to go crazy, just a 20 minute fast walk/run a few times a week will do wonders. Dont starve yourself or you will never maintain the diet, just replace some meals with no calorie veggies, it will work every time.

A healthy weight loss is usually no more than 2-3lbs per week, but you need to find out what your current height and weight are on a BMI chart or something similiar, maybe even a mirror or some friends, it just has to be honest, you need to know whether it is healthy to lose that much weight in the first place.

What ever you do, good luck, and try to eat a balanced healthy diet, exercise like running or any kind of aerobics is really the best way to lose weight.
