What to wear to a semi formal wedding?

I'm going to a family wedding in about a month. Its smart casual I think so im not going in a posh dress. I was think of wearing black jeans, pretty, girly, glitzy top and heals! Is it suitable to wear smart black jeans to an october wedding?! Any other...

suggestions?! I also don't want to spend lots of money on an outfit that I will never wear again!

I hate buying outfits for special occasions! its so stressful to me, lol, well, my sister got married in Oct. and I wore a black glittery simple dress, other than prom wich was 4 years ago I think that was the last time I wore a dress, I think it can be proper to wear jeans to a wedding (if its casual like you said it was) as long as the jeans are very nice looking and you dress it up with a more fancy top. Since its in oct it might be a little cool, I found this little black shirt that is medium sleeves and its short like only goes to my chest, I wear it over all my cute sleeveless shirts because I dont like to just wear sleeveless. Heels would dress up the jeans too. I think you could definitly get away with that! I've been to a few weddings that people wore tshirts and I think that is sooo tacky!

Please do not wear jeans. I used to photograph weddings and I always thought it was tacky when someone wore jeans or a low cut shirt/dress.
