To read or not to read that is the Question

People may not remember when I said “ People may jump out at me when I say this - but Twilight was not the best book-to-movie adaptation ever made. I may be biased in this though, seeing as I never became a huge Twilight fan.” When I said it, it was because I never gave it a chance on the fact I am not a big romance in book type person.

That was before. Lately I have read about the books on wikipedia and it really had me thinking about reading the book because of the fairy tale romance quality. Im want to give it a chance, and at the same time im not sure.

So I was wondering besides what I read are the books as good as they say & is the movie worth spending money on and watching?

You all been a big help, but I am still not sure the books sounded more interesting on wikipedia.

Yeah, for a journalism major, her writing was very poor in Twilight—but, did improve some as the series went along. Totally captivating characters that draw you in from the very beginning. The movie—ehhh. VERY small budget for a movie (like only 37 million, which sounds like a lot but is not for a movie that had the potential for serious extended theatre play). Special effects is what ruined it for me. The next movie is going to require even more special effects (wolf morphing) ansd budget only raised to 50 million—guess the production co.knows how to keep the money that’s made when the sales start raking in. Too bad they’re not as interested in customer satifaction? [¤=

thank god there is someone else on this planet who hasn’t submitted to the unhealthy obsession over twilight. I have news for you: it is not the Shyt. people tend to forget that it’s just a book and not reality, so forgive me when I say that everytime I hear someone say , “omg edward is sooo hot, I want him to take my blood and make it his!” I want to strangle them. the books…aren’t bad. the writing style really sucked. and whether or not you decide to read them is your choice. but bear in mind that edward and all of them are fictional characters. its not real. sorry if I told you more than what you wanted to hear, lol.

Books are ok. Movie sucks.

Answer #5

I think it really depends on YOU. stephenie meyer’s writing ability is quite poor, however, its the storyline thats EXTREMELY captivating. personally, I love the books, but the movie was a HUGE let-down. the actors are all pretty new, and lack good acting abilities. aswell, the camera-work and special-effects could have been greatly improved. the director has recently been replaced because of the poor movie ratings, meaning New Moon will be entirely different… and hopefully better.

Answer #6

Ten years ago, if anyone had said to me “The hottest thing in 2009 is going to be Mormon pedophile abstinence vampires,” I would either have thought I had been the victim of a Mad Libs or believed them wholeheartedly because this country has the literary taste of a dead dog. Twilight is the worst thing to happen to literature since Dan Brown figured out how to open Wordperfect.
