How do handle being teased for my height?

Im 13 and 5''9 and people at my school make fun of me. Calling me jolly green giant or Big foot. What should I do?

OK, well I'm really tall and I was made fun of alot to. It's hard I know but you have to remember that until they go though puberty their going to be short, it's not your fault your tall. You also need to use your height as an advantage, help people reach things or you could even do sports like volleyball, basketball, or even track. Remember you will not be the tallest forever, just wait til high school.

Tell them to watch out or you'll crush them.
Make the jokes before they do.
Play along.
It's so much less fun for them then.

dont let what other people say get to you, in a couple of years they'll all hit purberty too and they'll grow and you wont feel so out of place. dont worry

Once you hit high school and the guys get to be taller than you, they'll love you, if that's actually your picture than trust me you may not even have to deal with them cause you could get guys from older grades since you look older and seem older than thirteen because of your height and looks. I used to be called jolly green giant myself, and i'm 16 and 6'1 which at my age isn't all that tall anyway but i AM taller than a lot of ppl, so i didn't really take it seriously because loads of girls 1-3 years older than me talk to me and think i'm their age so being tall is never bad once you get of age where people become as tall as a grown person. =)

If it wasn't your height, they'd find something else to pick on. People are like that. You can ignore them, or you can laugh along, or try to beat them to the joke. Just realize what a silly thing something like height is to make fun of - and how insecure they must be about themselves to feel the need to harass you.
And remember, you're only 13 - you may find that when you're 23 and 5'9'' (or taller), you're given quite a different sort of attention for your height.

Ignore them, if not then call them shortshit and dwarves or something

def. play along like my couzin had chapped lips and some girls woudl say _hey wuts crackin? and then they woudl reply your lips!_ so when we passed those girls i her and i would say it back and forth and tehy relized she didnt care and they stopped not to mention she is 6'1 and she jsut turned 14_just look up tall jokes onlline and start saying them loudly_ask how the weather is down there jsut have fun with it , it will work!

hey dont let them bother ya i am a 16 year old girl and i am 6 foot 6inches tall and wear a size16 mens shoe and i am still growing. i have always either ignored them or just agree with them and take thier fun away. trust me i have been called shrek,jolly green giant, the big show, and many more. as for the jolly green giant i herd that so much that i thought it would be funny if i went to the halloween party last year dressed as him. many of the ppl that picked on me saw that when i did that there stupidity could not get to me. if they have anything to say just try the advice i gave u it just might work ;-) hope this helps some.

Since when do people make fun of people for being tall? You're bigger than they are, you could probably shove their face in the dirt with relative ease. Just tell em to shut their mouth or you're going to break their spine in twelve places with your karate kung fu judo chop action.

people are so ignorant, im 17 and im about 5'2, I WISH I was tall. forget the stupidity of your peers and do something productive with your height, like victoria johnson says, you could be a model.

I want to be a model so I pray every night that I'll grow 6 inches taller.I look up stretching exercises and sleep a lot.

just play along with it, when you start laughing or making up your own jokes about being tall others will stop teasing you about it because it will no longer be fun for them. I promise you it will work.

dont worry they will always find something...people tease me about my hair because I change it like every month.

you shouldn't let them get you down. hun you're 5'9! millions would kill to he that tall! walk with confidence! they're probably shorties anyway! screw em!
