Should i switch schools if it strands my best friend?

Ok, well i go to a small high school that is all about wealth, sports, and being very smart. Its a public school and they dont allow unnatural hair colors, certain piercings, holes in jeans, and well lets just say TONS of other things. So in this school...

pretty much everyone except for a few people are pretty rich and well snobby. They are all the exact same. Everyone wears amercian eagle, and hollister everyday. Everyone is the exact same. Very preppy. And if anyone really is different they are pretty rude to them. I dont really have a problem with that, its just i HATE how everyone is the same, and how everyone is just soooo self-centered. I really dont like that school. And of course next year my best friend will be in sweden for the first semister of school. which will make it SUPER hard to go there.

I am thinking about switching schools and going to the next towns school where one of my friends goes, and some other friends will be changing to that school also. Its the exact opposite of my school. It doesnt have as much drama in it looks like a school that would make me more happy.

However, my best friend will have to go to the school that i would be leaving for the second semister and senior year. She doesnt like anyone really in that school, and it would be hard for her and me to stay close friends if i went to another school. I feel bad leaving her but i WANT to get out of that school......

Should i switch schools?!?! I know i should do things for myself sometimes, but i just feel HORRIBLE to leave my best friend.

HELPPPPPPP

I admire you for caring about your best friend like that - true friends are hard to find....I would just say, 'the grass is not always greener on the other side'....so examine your heart and determine - where would I truely be happier ?....your call....I wish you the best !!

wow. your school sounds really stupid. but i would try making a list of the positives to switching schools and the negatives to it. which ever list is longer can be ur decision. If i was leaving my best friend behind, i would feel horrible too, but like you can hang out after school, on weekends, and over breaks. It makes the time you spend together more valuable if you dont see each other every day anyways. but yeah. try the lists? idk. hope things work out well !

all i can really say is the grass isn't always greener on the other side this may be the rebel side of me but my school is seperated into groups. you know the whole outsider jocks cheerleaders goths and snobs. I hate when people put me into one of those groups. My looks dosn't match my personilty and thats what confusses people. I basically made a group of my own and its a mix. all it takes is a couple of rebels to turn everything around. my advice is talk to more people in your school get to know the snobs before you decide to hate them. human nature is basically going to tell you snob, hate them, but don't let that contorl you. sometimes people put up a fake personallity to hide the real one it's kinda like the sword and sheild. you use the sheild to defend while the sword is hidden waiting to strick.

Hopes that helps
