How can i heal a peeling sunburn?

Tigerrrr Asked by sarahhhhh over 2 years ago, 15 answers.

What's up guys?

So, I'm a very outdoor oriented person, and always tan easily, being half Brazilian. I'm freaking out because about a week ago, maybe less, I fell asleep while laying out by my pool. I got sunburned but every other time I burn I go...

straight to tan. This time I'm PEELING!! I've sprayed Apple Cider Vinegar all over myself, and heard lotion is a bad move. The skin is slightly discolored, but I hear that's temporary? Once I stop peeling, can I go and re-tan the areas that peeled off? It's mainly my back, and tiny, fingernail sized spots on one of my shoulders

I don't like this!! I always use good sunscreens, but how can I take care of this? It's in the middle of my back.. kind of a hard spot to reach.

Heellpp mee!!

As much as you may want to pick, pull or scatch the skin, DON'T. That will just make the raw skin underneath come out too fast, leaving you in greater pain than the sunburn and the possibility of infection.

Don't use any thick, creamy lotions, that just suffocates the skin. You could use moisturizer to get it off, but keep in mind that the raw skin underneath will hurt (trust me I know, I put aloe vera on raw skin).
Mostly, you should just cover it up with a shirt, it'll take about a week to go away.

You should probably wait on the tanning thing too. Right now, and after you've healed, your skin is more sensitive than it was before you burned.

Recently I developed sun sensitivity and 5 mins of sun exposure burns me and my hands and face gets inflamed and red itchy. I used cortisone ointment .05% on the redness and ibuprofen which helps in relieving the inflammation. took 2 tabs that day 250 mg with 6 hours difference. it got better the next day

get alcohol and if you have a xanax use that but if you dont use a dymatap crush the dymatap until it looks like baby powder get 2 teaspoons of alcohol mix them then drink 1 teaspoon and put the other one on a paper towel and dab it on the burnt spot

I have the same problem, seems when I put on aloe vera it just gets sucked up and dries within 2 mins...I'm trying vinegar too, that gets rid of the pain but I've been peeling for over 2 weeks. I've got 5 different aloe veras, including a real plant. nothing seems to work. now I have bags under my eyes and they're wrinkly. It makes me look 25 years older. I look 50 and I'm in my mid 20's. please help!

use PALMERS COCOA BUTTER FORMULA (or any vitamin E) it works for heeling scars, so only use this if you are peeling. and if you just got your sunburn use aloe GELL. it sometimes stings, but in the long run it relieves pain and helps turn it into a tan.also some good moisturizer for sunburn are: udderly sMOOth udder cream (made for cows but is good for sunburn), milk (on a wash cloth held to your face for about 15 min), and plain old ALOE (cut it up, freeze it, and hold it to your burn)

I have a huge burn on my back and it has peeled, so some of my back is like a pink colour and the rest is a tan colour. What do you suggest would make the pinkish spots go away?? And the worst part, I got the burn like 2 weeks ago and nothing significant has happened. WHAT SHOULD I DO??

For me coca butter work people say it bad but it healed my sunburn up in no time. Coca butter keeps it most and it has something else in it that help heal. I'm not sure if it works on everyone, it doesn't work on my sister but its worth a shot. Just make sure your not allergic.
