Anyone have success stories about mom approval?

Hey everyone! Well ill get straight to the point, my mom doesn’t approve of my boyfriend because of the gap between us. I posted a question a lot similar to this one but now I’m wondering if there’s anybody else out there who has gone through the same thing and actually succeeded in getting their mom into liking him. Thanks!

I once had a boyfriend my parents didn’t like right away. He had tattoos, lip rings, and wasn’t in school- everything my parents DON’T like.

This is how we eventually fixed it: I looked through some of my Dad’s CDs, and told my boyfriend the titles. He did some research on the bands and the next time he came over, he could strike up a conversation about them. He was pretty smart, so with time and conversations, it worked.

He also would come over and cook dinner for my family once every couple of weeks, with eventually won my mom over.
