Strange dog name?

My friend just got a dog and named it dog?

It makes it sound like a slave and not wanted

I had a cat I named Dog...is that strange, too?

I have had many cats in the past years.
I think for me it was because I lack name imagination...
my cats had names like
*baby cat
*little cat
*mamma cat
*crazy cat.
and now the cat I have is
*Kitty Kat.

incase any one is wondering why I had so many cats
I would rescue them,... strays etc...
