What would you do under this scenario:

Starting out a childrens website.. Would you have membership fees or would rely on advertising revenue. Do you really get any clicks in adsense.. I got first click in 3 days after 100's of impressions. But this is a start and I know I have to be patient but before lauching the site I wanted to know whether you get any income from advertising from adsense? Otherwise I should charge membership fees to cover my expenses.

It depends: does your site offer something people would pay for? If so, then definitely have subscriptions. Even if it doesnt', you might offer a "member's special" that allows people to use the site advertising free. Several sites do this, and seem to generate revenue, that way it's not an "either or" situation. Good luck.
