What do you think of my speech for our school?

Somedays, we say how we aren’t so lucky. How our lives are terrible. And why? Because you missed the premiere of what your friends said you just “had” to see? Because you were told to clean up your room? Because you cant go to the mall and spend your moms money? Well. Think of other kids, who go days without food. Who work because if they don’t, they could die. Who fight everyday just to stay alive. But still keep hope. Yea, still think your life sucks? We all whine about little things that we’ll forget about tomorrow. Things that mean nothing. We’re all so selfish. We see the terrible things on TV that happen. From the wars where thousands are killed, to the dying children in Africa. And what do we do? We say “How awful,” shut it off, and sit back while it go’s on. Not bothering to do anything.
We sit back and watch as the world falls to pieces, not bothering to tape it back up. We don’t care or think about it until it happens to us. Then we start to understand.
Don’t sit back at watch lazily, as the world around us falls to pieces. You can stand up and do whats right. Be strong and do whats right, not only for the rest of the world, but for yourself….

It’s good, but the thing about making a difference in the world is that most people think that what you do won’t make a difference. That to make a significant change, you have to have everyone in the world on the same path. If you’re going to tell people that they’re over dramatic in their lives and fussing, then tell them to fix all the things wrong in the world, you’ve got to tell them how to do it. The thing with teenagers is that they love to be told what to do, they feel lost if they aren’t. You wont make an impact if you don’t explain to them what they can to do to help. And if you don’t even know what’s necessary to achieve this ultimate goal of making the world a better place, then I would suggest you not preach it. Just a few things to think about before you present this.
