Solid stain over paint

Asked by johnbala 3 months ago, 2 answers.

I have just finished painting my porch deck with Skid-No-More deck paint. Can I use a paint stain like Olympic solid color stain over the Skid no More.

Stain is meant to go on bare wood - it absorbs into the wood and 'stains' it. It has a more natural effect than paint.

You don't apply stain over paint.

OK here goes a product called Tripp wood/paint primer
a cream color can be brushed over a stin or paint
as long as the is { no } gloss coat over it then is would have to be removed . after that follow your stain
can instructions.
ps. the brush give it a wood grain look and clear coat over it after it drys 24 or so hours

hope it helps
have a great day
