You might have a sinus infection if it's gone on longer than a couple of weeks. Any fever? Do you feel run down? Visit the doc and maybe he'll suggest a course of antibiotics.

Over here in North America the Over-the-counter drugs for sinus relief have all be downgraded to stuff that doesn't work half the time. Sudafed used to contain something called pseudoephedrine, but it was being used illegaly to make X... Now Sudafed is made from something else beginning with p, too lazy to look it up right now but it's much weaker. HOWEVER -- you can still get the original Sudafed if you ask for it (they keep it hidden and look you up and down when you want some, LOL)

Hope this helps and you clear up soon!

The best way to treat sinus infections is with salt water irrigation.

Mix 1 tsp of non-iodized sea salt and 1 tsb of baking soda in 1 pint of warm filtered or distilled water.

You can use a neti pot, a bulb syringe, or a large syringe sold specifically for nasal irrigation. I use a neti pot because it is the most comfortable. A syringe may be more throurough though.

Antibiotics are not particularily effective for sinus infections because there is very little blood flow to the sinuses.

If you already have a sinus infection than the salt water may sting or hurt but it will help you get over it. There have been times I got big green globs of snot, blood, and black blood clots out.

If you continue to do these irrigations than you will avoid sinus infections and if you suffer from allergies the rinse will clean allergans out of your sinuses.
