Should i get a monroe or a lip piercing?

I don't have permission yet, because I wanted to decide first. I want to hear it from all angles on which one I should get. How painful is a monroe and how painful is a lip piercing (I wanted mine on the lower right side, my right side)? Which would...

look better on ME? Which swells more? I don't want to get both, because I want to keep it simple, but I really want either one. I like the monroe piercing, but I don't know...I also really like the lip piercing...someone decide for me! Thanks all.

I think you'd look great with either...but especially good with a monroe.

A monroe piercing in my opinion would look classier. Lips tend to be quite sensitive, but the skin around then is not much less sensitive - its going to hurt no matter which one you get, but a Monroe perhaps slightly less? Lips have a tendency to swell, but where a monroe piercing goes that area won't swell so much. The choice is yours, however - get whatever one you feel most comfortable with.

I think monroe piercings are beautiful, but I don't have one, so I can't tell you if it hurts or anything.

i had my lip pierced. it hurt, but it wasn't bad at all don't worry. i wouldn't get a lip piercing though. they're played and don't look good on too many people. they also take away from your face. a monroe would look good on you.

I've had both, my snakebite hurt a LITTLE more, not a big diff, monroe jewelry is the WORST to change, not just MY oppinion either, I've talked to several others, mine almost closed while I tried to change the jewlery. go with the off centre labret.

I got my monroe done a month ago. And I agree I can't even get the ball off the bar. And the people won't change. And I also got a lip piercing. But its on the opposite side. And I put a tiny tiny stud in it. And honestly it doesn't look bad.

I do not have a monroe piercing but mine is on the lower right side of mi lip it did not hurt when I first got it but it swells lightly the first day when you get to the 3rd day it will swell like 2 or 3 times the normal size jux put ice on it through out the day and DO NOT MESS WITH IT because it will jux make it worse use bactine or sea salt mixed with warm water to clean it or if you have saline solution used to clean contact lenses (but it is not the best) that will b ok till you can get 1 of the othr 2. but it will swell an awful lot for about 5 to 6 days on the six or 7th day it willl swell in the morning time when you wake up btu will go dwn eventually later that day or maybe the next day depending on how you react to it but when first have it you will c a little pus dont worry this is normal it is a sign your lip is trying to heal and if it starts to itch thats a good sign because that also mean its healing but b sure not to mess with it to much because it will get irritated and start to hurt DO NOT USE ALCOHOL OR PEROXIDE if anybody sayz to use this do not believe them it will do more harm than help for your piercing when I first got mine I used alcohol and it cause exess swelling and started to hurt a little more but the best thing to use when cleaning your piercing is bactine or sea salt with warm water or if your piercer recommended different then jux go with what they said but I heard the monroe hurts like hell! but I don't know for sure
