Should i forgive or punch someone who kicks my bible around?

cogito ergo sum Asked by marianna86 about 1 month ago, 20 answers.

I know you might think...well why doesn't she just throw that right in with the other sins...

But isn't like kicking God's Holy Word like kicking God himself...I mean who has the nerve to do that?...

I know if you kicked the Quaran things would...

probably turn ugly for you...

BUt what am I supposed to do when my cousin keeps stealing My Bible and showing me she can play soccer with it...I feel like I'm losing my patiency with her...I tell her it's a very HOly Book and she tells me so is her private part...oh FORGIVE ME for being so explicit... im so sorry...she's so impossible to deal it!!%#^$^$

I tell my parents but they just say

Hey Mikha...sweet heart...put the book down... and she throws it on the wall...

God's word means a lot to me...I cherish it and dream about it and think of it...

It's like you want to fight to defend God's word like literally really right now...do you think maybe I should punch her on the face...I don't hit her unless necessarry...but do you think this is necessary?PLus it will probably turn ugly she doesn't give up easy but is it worth it?I mean it's God's word we're talking about...HOw LONG will she KEEP DOING THAT!!

Your bible talks about not judging and forgiving. Perhaps you should listen to something you consider to be that holy

Colossians 3:13
Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you

Matthew 18:21-22
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times? Jesus answered, I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.

Luke 6:37
Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

Matthew 6:14-16
For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Mark 11:25
And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.

Ignore her. She's looking for attention. I know that you feel strongly about the issue, but just pretend that it doesn't matter and keep on doing it for a while. At least until she leaves your bible alone and believe me if you keep ignoring it long enough she'll eventually get tired of it.

Are you suggesting it's possible to beat up an omnipotent being? Did god get bullied in school?

Ah, fatwah envy.

Buddha never said 'ignorance is bliss'..that's actually the opposite of anything he taught us...we are to be mindful of our surroundings...we are not to ignore things, we are to deal with them with forgiveness and patient acceptance.

If someone is disrespecting your bible, then acting out on it only elevates the problem. Take your bible away from the person and let it go...they've done the actions that will result in their own consequences, but if you act upon it, you'll have changed your outcome as well.

It's just a book. To treat it as more than that is idolatry.

I can understand your respect for the Bible. But when one sins we should sin in response. You have to forgive her, take away any hatred feelings that you might have for her and pray for her. That is what you have to do. But before all this how old is she? If she is just a child you can just ignore her as when she grows up she will change her ways. Otherwise please do what I have already suggested.

Also one can kick the book but one cannot kick the words. Don't attach too much importance to the book. It is just a medium which displays the word of God. The computer is another medium where you can have the Bible as a soft copy. That does not mean that the computer is Holy.

God, doesnt need anybody defending Him.

you can challenge peoples misunderstanding, but you dont need to defend God. the highest most powerful bieng ever existed, that with a snap of a finger, maybe a thought, the universe would vanish or be consumed in utter unbelievable chaos.

you shouldnt want to hurt her becuase you say your defending God. your already in the wrong. but now, if your reason is because its a very important personal thing to you since your friend gave it to you, then I think you should do something about it, not exactly violently unless necessary.

remember God said those who live by the sword must answer to it one day. same applies.

by the way. this behavior sounds like one from a child. is she a child? and are you really thinking about hurting her???

how old are you? and seriously you need to tell her she's acting like a child, thats behavior I've seen from mental retardation. thats way too imature to be acting like an adult.

hide the bible. if shes acting like this already (violently) towards your bible, and you punch her, she could be capable of hurting you even more.

if you hurt her, she might find a way to hurt you even worse. maybe while you sleep.

so best thing to do is hide the bible, until you wish to read it.
