How to avoid red dots from shaving?

Asked by here_4_us about 1 year ago, 7 answers.

After reading some question about females prefrence to male pubic hair, I gave mine a bit of a trim, and shaved small areas. In the areas where I shaved, small red dots have sprouted where hair once was, a friend of mine told me that they're ingrown...

hairs. What should I do to avoide getting these red dots in the future if I'm to shave down there again.

First of all, you must make sure the area is very moisturized or hydrated. Sit in the bathtub for a little while before you do it. Then you need to use some type of shaving lotion or shaving gel. Do NOT just start going at it without this. If this doesn't work, well, shaving there isn't for everyone. If this is your first time your body might just be freaking out a little. Watch it and see how it goes, if it does it everytime, I would suggest leaving it alone.

I'm very stingy - I buy the cheapest brands I can for most things. But for this I buy good quality, expensive brands (usually of hair remover rather than shavers), because I've found that only good quality products, used properly as texaskimmie says, work without creating a rash.

You could use Bikini Zone afterward as well as the above suggestions... it is kinda like an aftershave for your bikini line... or wherever you're shaving! But, I have been using it for years and it works well for that!

I suggest shaving with non-scented cream. It's better than actual shaving cream and you will not get those red dots. Also you can use Veet it leaves no dots and you don't have to shave for awhile

Ok, since my phone line's been down for a while, this is the first time I've been able to check on these responses. Anyways, when I shave my face, I always wash it with clearocell afterwards, would that be ok for this too.
