Securing my port

Asked by raymondrp about 1 year ago, 1 answer.

How do I secure a port to ensure only users of my software application can access my server? My server has been hacked by unscrupulous geeks.

I can use only static IP addresses to allow entry but that would exclude people using laptops that use...

dynamic IP addresses - any suggestions?

You can block your port using a firewall and add exceptions. Failing that, use a VPN (Virtual Private Network) and allow this in the firewall rules and If this is software that you wrote, make it connect only through the VPNs IP address.

Let me know if you need further help.
