just after some advise as im trying for a baby and I was just wondering as I've seen babies on the front seat and back!
god good!
cant a girl ask for some friendly advise without bein attacked!!
Well, I think that it is the law to have them in the backseat in a rear facing car seat. I hated having to do that when my son was a newborn bc I couldnt see him or reach him really well while I was driving, and if he dropped his bottle or toy or something. But back is probably the safest way to go. They make mirrors that you can put in the seat in front of your baby so you can look in your rear view and see him/her.
My son will be 2 on the 30th of this month. He has a big boy car seat now that I put up front with me if we are going to short rides, like to Walmart or something. He enjoys it.
Depends on what state you live in. Here in Washington It's the law for you to have the child in the back seat if they're under the age of thirteen; provided there is a back seat available. In the case of there not being one, (like a truck w/ no rear seats or yourself and four other children in a five seater car), then there is not a law prohibiting you from putting a child in the front seat as long as there are no other available options. definatley look it up in your state though.
Newborns have to be rear facing in the back seat of a car (preferably the middle of the seat) until they are 20lbs and a year old. After that they have to face forward in a 5 point harness seat (the kind of car seat that has it's own buckles). They need to remain in this until they are at least 30lbs. Then they move to a booster seat (this kind uses your car seatbelt). They can safely sit in the backseat with no car seat once their feet are flat on the floor and their butt is the whole way back in the seat. They are not allowed in the front seat until they are at least 12 years old.

Safe place to put kids in cars
I was wondering can you put a new born in a baby car seat on the front passenger seat if you deactivate the air bag? Or do you have to by law have all babies and small children buckled up on the back seats?
