your computer has most likely gone into safe mode to protect itself, keep in safe mode, scan for viruses, if you dont have an anti virus program, AVG is a good one, also spybot can help remove spyware, which can also B*gger up the pc. do a system restore if possible.

Go to

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

and select Restore my computer to an earlier time. Click Next.

Now select a date prior to when your brother fouled up the computer.

Click next and follow any succeeding instructions.

After you have restored your computer, try going to the site below to remove any virus:

HouseCall is a free online virus scanner offered by Trend Micro, which checks whether a computer has been infected by viruses, spyware, or other malware.

After that, if you don't have an anti-virus program, consider AVG:

AVG is a FREE anti-virus program that is excellent

If you did the system restore, then run a full scan with your AVG.

After that try running Ad-aware

Ad-aware removes spyware and it's FREE!

Go to above link and Download

After that if you have a registry cleaner, run it, otherwise:

Eusing Free Registry Cleaner is good and relatively fast.

Back up any files you care about, and restore your system with the system restore feature/disk that came with it. The nice thing about doing this, is that it'll run a lot faster too.

dont use them free online scanners, theyre just there to either make you buy the software, or make you download something which will foook up your pc!

another thing you can do is

click the start button

go to run programs and type in MSCONFIG

then click the startup programs tabs

from there just uncheck all the suspicious looking programs basicaly anthing that has a file path thats like lksjdlfjsddskfj or just a program youve never heard of, unchecking these will stop your computer from running the program when it turns on and might help shut down what ever is messing with your comp you can do the same thing checking for processes and turning them off too.
