How do you keep up with dark roots when going blonde?

I have brown hair and I'm going into the salon today to get all over blonde highlights, like three shades all over covering all my brown, this is my first time going blonde - I'm really nervous. Mostly about root upkeep. How should I keep up with my dark roots popping up?

It's really hard to keep your roots from showing. In two weeks mine were horrible! I recently had to dye my hair back to my natural color because the upkeep is very expensive.

I just use a bleach on it. but after that I keep it conditioned and moisturized really good.
