What do you think of Romney suspending his Campaign? I think it's smart for the republicans since most people are swaying towards Clinton or Obama. The Republican's could benefit from it, but we will see. What does everyone else think?

I think its probibly better for the Republicans if they get their candidate quick because it will give them longer to campain for presidensy. This Obama/Clinton thing could go on for months.

I agree, it's a very smart move if the republicans have their candidate locked down soon, and will give them a bit of an advantage.

Yeah, I believe Romney mentioned him suspending the campaign so McCain could get ahead.

It means he dropped out of the race for president.

Well, if you don't have much of a shot at winning the nomination for your party at this stage, it would be foolish to continue to spend millions of dollars in the slim hope that you might win. I can think of many many other more useful and worthwhile things that that money could be spent on. Maybe he'll have better luck in the future.

I think it was a wise move for two reasons.
1. romney had spent so much of his own money. given the fact that huckabee would not withdraw, the delegates needed for nomination, would continue to be split. romney's money down the drain. if huckabee had withdrawn, romney would have had a chance at the nomination.
2. this way romney will not be perceived as a "loser" and will be a viable candidate for the future.

I think he did the smart thing. Since he never got very dirty with McCain, he can vie for the VP slot.
