I am trying to put to gether my resume and I was wondering if you had to put jobs on your resume if you worked there less than 6 months. Also, do jobs you worked at for less than 6 months show up on your background check? Please get back to me asap it's important.
Thanks

Things to consider when putting down job history. Did you leave on bad terms? If you did leave on bad terms which is worse? a gap in your job history or the chance that they might contact your former employer? Most large companies you worked for will not give out much information to potential employers. Generally they will confirm the dates worked, your job title, and sometimes they will indicate if you are rehirable but if you aren't they generally won't explain why. Small businesses are less likely to have policies on what they can disclose so they may give specifics. If the job in question is in an unrelated field it might not be that important to potential employers.

No idea on your background check question.

You can put jobs even if you worked there less than 6 months, but think of this: why did you work there only 6 months? Have you been fired or...?If you left the firm on bad terms, better not tell them I also think that you should include those jobs (under 6 months) which are relevant, the experience you gained there helped you somehow to improve your skills and abilities.
