What is this puzzling cat condition?

Shark Atack Asked by funadvice over 2 years ago, 3 answers.

Cat has been having problems for 3 wks. gone to vets x-rays, neg. 1st blood panel showed a decrease in the wbc. Experience pain in upper spine. Second visit same, blood panel came back with another decrease in wbc 3000 neutrophils 2000. Cat is Felv...

fiv neg. Has vet puzzled, now seems to be increasing in pain on the whole spinal area and side of cat. On clindamycin and buxtopedrine for pain, not helping. Seems he is starting to dehydrate, fluids given. Not grooming. Will lay in litter pan all the time versus bed. I was told bone marrow, ct scan and mri would be call for, at a great price and probably a negative result, I believe. Any ideas? I just am going in circles, he is only 3 years. old and always an indoor cat since 5 wks.

I am a Vet Entern, I can help possibly.

Well, is it bleeding from anywhere?
There could be deteriating cartalige, or perhaps, the disc's withint he spine or damageing other enternal organs or nerves.

If this continues, I would keep consulteing a Vet (perhaps several diffrent ones), and if it continues I would think about putting your cat down.

Did they do a X-ray on it's neck, brain? Something could be Neurological.

I need to go to Class, Im actuelly working on Cats today.
Please reply.

I am not sure if you cat is active other times. How often is he laying in the cat box?

I have a cat with a heart murmer. He becomes inactive at times. But he becomes worst if I take him to the Vet. I leave him alone.

Sometimes it is best to let nature take it's course. Leave your cat alone, he is an indoor cat. Let him get better or let him go on. I would not put him down at this stage. That is my last resort.

Have you tried honey or gartor aide? This has helped my puppies, just a thought.
