Well, the X-box 360 has HD based encoding for the stroage and pixel depth and the PS3 uses Blu-Ray and is packing the infamous cell processors. The X-box has a working running model that is less buggy than its competition. The PS3 recently gained the ugly reputation as a Blu-Ray player that doesn't play Blu-Ray CD's only the games. I am personally waiting for the PS3 to launch here in America and for the bug to get fixed that is making the PS3 a far better deal due to the cost of Blu-Ray players. PS3 might be a bit more money in the end, but I am stll wailting for it over the 360. I am sure the games might be different to a degree, but the better games will be available on all platforms.

Now that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 specifications have been announced, it is possible to do a real world performance comparison of the two systems.

There are three critical performance aspects of a console:

1. Central Processing Unit (CPU) performance.
* The Xbox 360 CPU architecture has three times the general purpose processing power of the Cell.
2. Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) performance
* The Xbox 360 GPU design is more flexible and it has more processing power than the PS3 GPU.
3. Memory System Bandwidth
* The memory system bandwidth in Xbox 360 exceeds the PS3's by five times.

yes and the rumored blu-ray and the automatic updates through XBOX live in the future give a pretty good incentive, but the choice goes to you, are you more of a gamer or are u gonna use it as a fancy DVD player that also plays games??????

btw, Xbox 360 is run on 3 cpus, 1 main drive and 2 smaller drives that control limited action.......basically to give game programmers extra hard incentive to make the game as unpredictable as possible as the AI will have a mind of its own, they will rarely do the same thing twice, unless it is essential for the game that a certain sequence take place........

while, you guessed it PS3 is only run on 1 central cpu..........so basically, the AI on the 360 will have a chance to surprise you while there is no real AI factor in PS3 as it is all preprogrammed ONE WAY, what you c is what you get way......

rating wise the ps3 rules gaming arena it is far more advanced than the xbox360 the ps3 is the next level of gaming the newage of the nextgen gaming is the ps3 prefer ps3 it will never be outdated like the xbox360 the graphics is far more advanced and the dualshock is more player friendly than the joystick in xbox 360
