a cyst on your ovaries could stop you from getting pregnant I dont know about it stoping your period though but if you dont want to have surgury to get it removed than you should go get on the birth control depo-vera. It will dissolve the cyst. I had a cyst on my ovaries and my doctor put me on depo-vera and it dissolved it not really fast but before it did any damage to my body. Hope I helped
