Pregnant and not eating

I have a 1yr 10 mth old dog and no matter what I give he she doesnt want it,and I bought 1 of every thing in the store and nothing and she doesnt even want food from the table and more, what should I try doing.

There is also another possibility...I had to to face the fact with my dogs (over a course of many years), that the common denominator in their not eating was...ME! The only dogs I ever had who ate like normal dogs, were my recue dogs...

I worried and fretted over their eating habits, all the time (MoJo, the dog in the pic with me, was ...gawd I hate admitting this... spoon fed for 3 months...)...till my husband said, this nuts! LOL...I quit worrying and fretting, and it took a week or so, and he started eating...

Just be sure that you're feeding a good nutricious food (no Benefill, or anything thing like that)...make sure the first 2 or 3 ingredients are a protien source...not corn, wheat, soy...grains...(which are carbs)...Nutro is a good nutricious food, and isn't terribly expensive...as is Costco's Premium Lamb and Rice...both have a LOT of bang for your buck!

Maybe it just is emotionly sick, and doesn't feel loved. Could be pregnant or could be something way more serious. You should at least try to consult a veterinarian.

Try a bland diet, boiling chicken and rice. no butter or salt, just plain, is she up to day on vaccines, is she going potty ok? did she eat anything she was not supposed to? sorry so many questions, but need more info. what kind of dog? I would make appt. with vet

How far along is she, pregnant dogs stop eating just before they whelp? You say she is pregnant? Have you taken a rectal temp and what day of the pregnancy are we on?

Ok so I just relize it is a chihuahua. My little chi one day just was acting so weird and would not eat. They do get funny even if they have a little tummy ache. but these dogs could have other things going on that need attention right away. If you switched food to fast that may be the problem also. See if she will take a little dab of Karo syrup. Is she pregnant. I would still call your vet. these little dogs can go down hill fast without eating or drinking. let us know how she is doing

If she's pregnant, she may be diabetic, or have a dead decaying puppy inside and be getting toxic, or she could be in early labor, and have a stuck puppy. Get to the vet.
