Does the pill affect your chances at pregnancy in the future?

Lately I have been having doubts about the pill. I really want to have kids in the far future and I plan to be on the pill for a while. It's been almost a year that I have been on it now and I am having doubts about my fertility after I go off it. My doctor said that there should be no problems conceiving after you go off the pill, but I am still skeptical. Can someone reassure me that everything is going to be ok?

I've been on the 28 day contraceptive pill for over a year now, and I made sure I read all the info on my pills before I took them. I've come across a lot of research, and there is no evidence it will decrease your chances of having children after you go off them.
On another note, research has shown that if you take the pill for in between 3-7 years, it's possible that you may reduce your chances of getting breast cancer. It hasn't been said that it definately does, but studies have shown that it might.
But yeah... don't worry about it, your doctor is right- the contraceptive pill does not lessen your chances of getting pregnant later.
