I have actually read in a health book that there is not a big chance of getting pregnant while you are menstruating, but then, my doctor told me that it is your most fertile time a couple of weeks ago! Just be careful!

yes you can, but chances arent as high as in the middle of your cycle (day 14)
just be careful and use some kind of contraception!

You should always use contraception, because as well as pregnancy, theres also the issue of STI's. Unprotected sex is one of the stupidest things anyone can ever make. Did you know that 1 in 2 sexually active people in th USA will have had an STD by the age of 25. Thats scary.

Probably not, but it is still possible.

If you are going to be sexually active, please use some type of contraceptive. The Pill is most effective at preventing pregnancy, but the condom is close AND it helps prevent STD's.

And keep the Emergency Contraceptive (EC or morning after pill) on hand in case of condom failure. It is available over the counter in just about every state. You may have to ask for it at the pharmacy counter and possibly show proof of age 18. This varies state to state and possibly between stores. (In Pennsylvania, Wal-Mart carries it under the name 'Plan B'.)

Good Luck !!

yes it's possible.
it depends when your fertile period is.
they usually say it's around day 14 of your cycle, but could be as early as day 10.
sperm can live upto 7 days.
so you can see how that could happen.
