Possible side effects of the rod?

Asked by here_4_us 5 months ago, 4 answers.

My girlfriend wants to get the rod put into her arm, to avoide pregnacy. I'm a little skepticle my self, as we don't have sex that often, and even when we do, we always use protection. to my understanding, it works by excreating a dose of some hormone every so often. I know that hormones have effects on the body, so I was curious on knowing what possible side effects may come about if she had it implanted, long term, short term and all other.

hmm, I've actually never heard of that before.
I'm sure once she goes to the doctor he will go over the side effects or you can probably look it up online if you know the name of it.

I've never heard of a rod put into the arm, there is a rod-like thing that they can place into the woman's cervix, but. . .
from my understanding most birthcontrol is 99% effective including : pills, condom, patch, and the cervix thing. She can also get a shot that is effective for 3 months and she wont have her period for 3 months. Me I use the pill, I want to have my period since we are sexually active having your period is like a good omen. :D
there is always a risk, you both should go to the OBGYN and have a talk with the doctor, she/he will be able to give you all the information you need. Dont' forget to express your concerns as well. Communicate
