Everyone who gets involved in politics must deal with the media raising issues from their past in an attempt to smear them. Obama is a half Kenyan liberal who once attended school in a Muslim country. If the American media and society won't even let a white middle-class Protestant campaign unscathed, what makes you think they wouldn't touch Obama?

He knew this when he decided to campaign for the presidency, and has dealt with these matters as they arise.

I dont know much bout his past, yea' people needs to put the past behind, but remember people can go in circles another words, he can do the same things, and what exactly is his change, not all changes are good..and to what he says in public doesn mean he'll do it when he is in office, he may just be sayin things just to get people to vote, then when he gets into office it may be a change that we will regret...as far as he pass, like I dont know much bout it...politicians isn the most trustworthy people, to be honost, I have no repect to them b/c they ignorant to people and all they do is lie...take what he says however...and that even goes for the mccain party...

Because Character / core values matter - they are the internal guiding factors that are ingrained.

"Because Character / core values matter - they are the internal guiding factors that are ingrained."

I think that describes Obama pretty well.

It is too bad that McCain does not have the ingrained internal guiding factors to know that cheating on your crippled wife with a younger, wealthier girlfriend and calling your wife a c**t is wrong, cruel and shows a complete lack of character and core values.

Unless YOU believe that cheating on your spouse or calling her a c**t is okey dokey and displays character and core values.
I never thought about that before,
maybe you DO think that cheating on your spouse and calling her a c**t is okay.

You're right hollywoodbabe. But you've still got too remember the past because it's who it makes you today! And that's why Obama is SOOO great.
He's learned from his past.

Rickd -
After McCain's homecoming from Vietnam, the couple grew apart. Their marriage began disintegrating while McCain was stationed in Jacksonville.

McCain has admitted to having extramarital affairs.

In April 1979 McCain met Cindy. They began dating, and he urged his wife Carol to grant him a divorce, which she did in February 1980, with the uncontested divorce taking effect in April 1980.McCain and Hensley were married on May 17, 1980.
