How to tell people I love to write poetry?

I love to write, and I really want to let people know that I do, but Im scared of what they will think. what should I do?

Have confidence in yourself. Go ahead and do it...writing is nothing to be ashamed of. It's really nice to see that you like doing that and hopefully others will appreciate it too.

You should defintely let people read your work.
If you spent time to write something why not let the world see it.
I'm sure their will be some people who won't like it.
But there are also plenty of people that will/
You need there opinion on how to make it better, what else you should do to it and tips on new things to write about.
Always open up and share who you are to your peers around you.
Never keep yourself locked up.

dont worry bout what people think! everybody has there own opinions. like in the museum of art, a red canvas! just plain red...im thinking who wud spend money on tha? but yet it is in one of the most famous mueseams adored by everyone!!! so just go for it!!! so what if someone doesnt like it...its the people who do!!! I say follow your voice! and let it be heard!

go 4 it, even if only 1 person loves it, ull feel betta. most of us cant even write poetry, (like me) show it off, you mite find its gr8 and if not no biggie, you got it off your chest, so f*ck it

Poetry isn't about people liking it or not..it's about emotional depth and self expression.NOBODY will understand your artwork as well as you ..because YOUR emotions are what created it. Poetry,painting, sculptures, drawings...real art conveys a feeling...it allows the viewer to have a better understanding and appreciation of the artist. : )

Don’t care about others, just do what you want. If you will think what others will say then you will be nothing and when you will notice that the time will be gone.

Why would you be scared to let people know you write poetry?
It's something to be proud of.
