Pierced ears on a guy, what do you think?

What do you think about piercings on a guy?
I kinda want to get my ears pierced, but I would like to know some girls opinions.
Also I am really scared about getting it done, like I don't want it to look to "gay", and I am not sure about dress codes at businesses as far as whether they allow piercings on men or not, lastly does it hurt to get pierced?
