Why won't my phone work in my room?

I hooked a phone up in my room, it wont give me a dial tone. I hooked it up in my dads office and it works fine. it has a full batery... whats going on?? what do I do??

but anyway it's the plug thing you used in your room is all messed up!!

if its a house phone your talking about, thent he line does not work. It is either has some wiring issues, or was just never hooked up to your phone line.
