Hey usually if you go to a school that requires you to live in a dorm your first year at least (most traditional college/universities do) then you cannot have pets. You can maybe get away with having like fish or small lizards or something if they're quiet and don't smell and don't bother your rommate. But if you try to bring anything in there that the RA (resident advisor) on your floor will see then you're in trouble and you won't be able to keep any pets at all!

After your first year you can get your own apartment and live with friends and as long as the apartment allows you to have pets then you should be ok. Although most apartments on college campuses don't allow you to have dogs since college students usually have a reputation for being pretty loud and dirty and having a dog would just add to the mess.

No- it doesn't depend on the college- if you live in a dorm that is a residence hall that belongs to the university- pets are not allowed- not even fish

It depends on the college... You usually do not have to stay in the dorms, although mine forced you to if you were an international student, and even then it's only the first year...

If you live on campus, again it depends from school to school, some will allow fish and things like that, but from what I've seen, most will not allow cats or dogs...
