We don't have one in my high school. But two years ago when I was in middle school we had one. I never used it or anything but for everyone I guess it worked great. I don't really don't think those should be did with students helping students. Because theres no one you can trust these days and at my school no one used it because they were afraid the kids would tell. Id rather just talk to a counselor than other students or a group of people about problems.
I think your not seeing the point... I think that peer Mediators aren't their for counceling, but for conflicts but ofcourse I may be wrong.
hahah I think I'm wrong as well but my school has a take a hike program it takes "trouble" teens [uhhh I don't want to be mean but sorry for those people out there if you think I'm pin pointing u...I'm not.] out on outtings example camping , rock climbing etc. and have a seperate part of school but sorta same education tho. It builds up relations and help teh "trouble" teens out and yeah conflicts from past of teens are involved...
well I unno about where you live but I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada BAHAHAH.

Does your school have peer mediation and how does it work?

I have been granted a skill of being able to solve conflicts, quickly, with no shouting or punishment involved. I want to carry my skills to my community, and school. This is why I want to start a peer mediation program, where certain students are trained, to solve conflicts, nuetrally, and effectively, to some point of level.(Ex. Sexual abuse, would not be a conflict within peer mediation reach) I want to learn more about peer mediation, as lots of schools are turning to it for a solution to conflicts without involving punishment. Does any one here have a peer mediation program in their school? How does it work?
