The problem is, your driver for sound devices in your pc might been uninstall. To put it back you have to reinstall the driver to return back the sound of your pc..

(For built in sound card)Every computer we bought has a MOTHERBOARD CD included, just insert your motherboard cd and install the sound driver(wait for autoplay,)

(For PCI sound card) when you buy a sound card it always have a cd, go and insert it..
Hope that it will helped.:happy

Try windows update. Goto update.microsoft.com using Internet Explorer. Click on custom and install all hardware updates from the side. Then restart your pc and you should have sound again. Thats if there is a driver on there which there normally is. You may need to install ActiveX apps if IE asks you to. Also try and check this website weekly for recent updates from MS. You need to be logged in as an Administrator to use this site also.
