How much do you pay a 16 year old nightly babysitter?

The kids are 7 and 9. Time goes from 6:30pm @ night till 7:30am the next morning ?

Answer #1

It depends on his/her experience and how reliable they are. Since there are two children and you have to stay over night i would say around $15-20. But again it all depends on the people and how trusted you are asa babysitter.

Answer #2

Ask what the rate is. Most already know what they charge and if you pay to little they won’t be back. If they don’t have a set rate, pay at least 5-6 dollars an hour. If the children are younger and up alot at night, I would say a little more.

Answer #3

I wouldn’t pay hourly, I’d pay her maybe 20 bucks. They’ll be up for at least a few hours, depending on if it’s a school night or not, and she’ll be waking up early. So at least $20 would be good for a 16 year old, if not, a little more. You know how your kids would act with her, so you make the call lol

HA I thought nightly said naughty at first xD

Answer #5

My friend has two children, around the same age as the one you mentioned. She pays the babysitter $75 the night (and I’m in Ontario). I know it sounds like a lot, but the fact is that even if the kids are sleeping, the babysitter is there giving her time. If the kids wake up, you’re paying her to take care of the kids. Just because they’re sleeping, that does not mean that she will not have to get up at any given time to take care of them. It also does not mean that she’s not watching the house to ensure their safety. $15-$20 is severely underpaying, in my opinion. I know I’d never do it for that rate.

In any case, most babysitters here charge a flat rate or they go with an hourly rate. If you’re not sure what the babysitter would be comfortable with, ask her what she’d prefer. This way you don’t risk losing her.

Answer #6

I would pay between 50 and 100 a night, depending on how long we would be gone and how many kids are being watched. This may be on the high side, but I always tried to help the kids out, and I never had a problem getting a sitter.

PS: The sitter had to do activities with the kids, not just sit their and watch TV.

Answer #7

We either had them watch 2 or 3 kids, and it was up to 8 hours.

Answer #8

you should pay all babysitters the same amount. 5-6 dollars an hour is what babysitters usually get. if the hours are during night, i would raise the price to around 8-12$ an houur. But, if the kids are big trouble makers, and don’t listen, i would make the price even higher

Answer #9

If you want to pay her by hour, I would do like 2-3 dollors or something, it’s not too much but it is something at the end. Also it depends on how good of a job she does and everything, if you just want to pay her like an amount, pay her like 20-25 dollars, that should be good enough.

Answer #10

Where I live, in Ontario, I think most sitters get about $10 an hour. Thats adjusted by how many children and their ages.

Answer #11

I’d pay minimum wage, per hour. That’s what everyone in NZ does anyway. But a lot of people pay exclusive of what tax would be. So minimum wage is $12.50 here, so usually the parents pay the babysitter $10 an hour cash-in-hand.
