How to stop my parents from making school a disaster?

Asked by flyingcantaloupe 11 months ago, 5 answers.

my name is courtney and I go to a private school. When I am in school my parents put a lot of pressure on me.. For example..I got a B on a math test, and my parents exploded, I was grounded for a week. My teachers say to lighten up, but I cant or I will get in trouble, I tried talking to my parents but they won't listen, I am only in 8th grade.

Please Help!

Wow, I would do anything to get a B. I get D's and F's, sadly enough. But I am a good person, I just don't do as well as I could in school. Just sit them down and explain to them you are feeling a lot of pressure and would like them to just let you handle it. It is your future not theirs and they need to understand that. Hope I helped!

Talk to your school psychologist or a close relative. Your parents are insane, and are doing more harm than good. Don't give up, you are not too far away from 18.

They just want you to do your best. In the future good grades will = $$$

Once you get into college getting all A's means a lot to an employer once you get into the workplace. So starting now isn't bad. You can carry a 4.0 with you the rest of your life!

Sit down and talk with your parents. Explain to them that punishment is just discouraging you more and that you want to do your best. (you DO want to do your best right?)

I know right now college seems sooo far away and starting your career seems a long ways off but preparing now will set you ahead.
