Why are parents so strict about kids

Why are parents so strict about kids like me getting peircings that confuses me??

because they don't want to see their babies with holes in their face..

Parents won't to protect their child(ren) from being judged or ridiculed. And in todays society certain ways or dressed are looked down upon. Its sad but true. I'm guessing that your parents don't want people labeling you and a freak.. now I'm a parent myself and I have a few pierced and tattoes. So I think its ok to have them as long as it is in moderation and done tastfully.. and if you get tattoes make sure you won't regret it in 10 tens ya know... just remember that your parents love you and they're just trying to do their job and that's to protect you from harm.. emotionally and psyhically

erm my parents just arn't for Mutulation. =/ They say I have a pretty face and that they dont want it ruined..

just tell them that if you want one and they allow it that you wont wear it in front of them, my ears are pierced 4 times in each ear and when it comes to occasion then I just take them out thats simple. get others to come over that have the piercings that you have and have them tell your parents that they have never had any problems with it.

im a parent and I have piercings tats. my 14 yr old son is starting to ask me if HE can get piercings. my answer is not until he is 18 and moved out. {I was in my 20's when I got my peircings and tats} I can not speak for all parents, but im kinda strict like that b/c I dont want him to do anything he will regret. my sis got a huge tat on her belly with her boyfriend name on it, they broke an she marry someone else, now she stuck with x name on her tummy. also if not cared for properly, tats and peircings can bcome infected. yur parents are only doing what they feel is best for u. good luck
