Opinions on Cell Phone Use in Schools?

This week, in the high school in my district, there was an incident where a student took an inappropriate photo of another student during class. The photo was published and it went viral. Now, the kids in the entire school district can not bring they’re phones to school, but is this helping the issue? How will banning 1500 students from using their phones because of one idiot help the cause? What can the students, teachers, and parents do to stop the board of education from creating this unnecessary issue?

My personal opinion, no student should be using there phone during school time, your supposed to be learning, not keeping in contact with friends

Kids will survive without their cellphones in school the same ways kids have survived without them for generations.

I don’t get this need for having a cellphone at school … you kids seem to think the damn things are attached to your central nervous system and you would die without them. You don’t need to text your friends or play Angry Birds … try turning off the phone for awhile … I bet you live.
